Al-Hurray ( Arabic الحرّة, English : Alhurra written; translated as "The Free") is an Arabic - language television station based in the US state of Virginia , which tries to convey values such as freedom of speech with news and programs on current events according to its own presentation. The television station also produces offshoots for Europe and Iraq .

The station is funded by the US Congress and reports to the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), which is responsible for the operation of all non-military international broadcasts in the USA .
audience
In the Middle East , the station says it reaches around 25% of the population via satellite . The program organizer is the Middle East Television Network (MTN). The program is ad-free and, according to its own statements, is fully funded by US authorities. However, the TV channel's credibility and popularity have been questioned by critics.
