al-Mu'nis al-Muzaffar ( Arabic مؤنس المظفر, DMG al-Muʾnis al-Muẓaffar ; † 933 ) was the most important ruler under the caliphs al-Muktadir and al-Qahir .

al-Mu'nis al-Muzaffar was a eunuch . His rise began when he supported Caliph al-Muktadir during the coup of Abbasid prince Abdallah al-Mutazz and saved his rule .

As a military leader, he soon represented the real power in the caliphate . Through his campaigns against the Hamdanids of Mosul and Aleppo , the Byzantines , the Fatimids in Egypt and western Iran , he was largely able to maintain the borders of the caliphate.

Even with inner turmoil he always managed to restore calm. So in 929 he pacified the rebellious troops in and around Baghdad after they had exhausted the state treasury with their demands for wages and plundered the caliph's palaces .

After the relationship with al-Muktadir was strained, al-Mu'nis was overthrown and executed under his successor al-Qahir as a result of intrigues .
