Al Lorenzen

Al Lorenzen (born April 14,  1966 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa ) is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Lorenzen, an eight-foot indoor player, was a student on the basketball team at John F. Kennedy High School in his hometown, Iowa  . In 1984 he was awarded the “Mr. Basketball ”awarded by Iowa. At the university level he played from 1984 to 1988 at the University of Iowa and came up with averages of 7.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per encounter. He reached his best season values ​​in 1987/88 (10.6 points, 5.7 rebounds per game).

Lorenzen switched to professional business and played in the second French division in Voiron in 1988/89 , where he scored an average of 26.4 points per game.

In the 1989/90 season he played for the Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets in the US league CBA and in 1990/91 in the basketball league for TTL Bamberg . He then moved to Caen, France, where he was active in 1991/92, and later played in Lucerne in Switzerland and in Istanbul, Turkey .

In 1993/94 he was in the service of USOAM Basket from the city of Athis-Mons in the French Liga Nationale 2 and was team captain. After the end of his basketball career, Lorenzen became an employee of the tourist office in the city of Des Moines .
