Aladár Gajáry

Aladár Gajáry (born February 28, 1929 in Kapuvár , Hungary ; † March 29, 2018 in Chur , Switzerland ) was a Roman Catholic priest , theologian and dogmatist .

Life

Aladár Gajáry studied after his Abitur in Kapuvár from 1947 to 1956 philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . Scholarships from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation took him to the universities in Mainz and Munich. In 1953 he was ordained priest for the diocese of Székesfehérvár in Rome in the collegiate church of the Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe in Rome . In 1958 he was with the thesis "The doctrinal and ascetical foundations of virginity in the problems of today" to Dr. theol. PhD.

In 1958 Gajáry succeeded Peter Gumpel SJ as a repetitor for theology at the Pontifical Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum in Rome. In 1964 he switched to the professorship for dogmatics and fundamental theology at the St. Luzi seminary in Chur . He was Vice-Rector from 1978 to 1982 and Rector of the Theological University in Chur from 1986 to 1999 . In 2000 he was retired .
