Alain Fossoul

Alain Fossoul (born December 31, 1928 - May 9, 2012 ) was a Belgian football player . In the post-war period, the defender , who played 80 first division games, won five national titles.

Athletic career

Fossoul began his professional career in 1946 when he was promoted to the first division team of RSC Anderlecht . At the end of the season he won the first championship title in the club's history with the team around Henri Meert , Hippolyte Van den Bosch , Jean Valet and Joseph Mermans . In 1948 he moved to league rivals Boom FC , but returned to Anderlecht after one season. Here he played until 1955 and was part of the team at the championships in 1950, 1951, 1954 and 1955. Then his career ended in the lower-class league area at RC Jette .
