Alain Manoukian
Alain Manoukian (born February 19, 1946 in the Armenian SSR ) is a French fashion designer from Armenia . His eponymous fashion label, founded in 1973 with headquarters in Tain-l'Hermitage near Lyon and well over 100 outlets in Europe , some of which are company-owned and some of which are franchised , is one of the largest French distributors of ready-to-wear clothing . Accessories are also sold under the label. In 2000, the Manoukian Group with around 1000 employees achieved sales of over 1 billion French francs for the first time , and in 2001 it achieved 160.79 million euros. After a sharp drop in sales in the following years, it still amounted to 134.3 million euros in 2004, placing Manoukian in 80th place in the ranking of all European clothing suppliers, compiled by the textile industry magazine. Around two thirds of the group's sales are generated in retail .
