Alan Everard Montgomery

Sir Alan Everard Montgomery KCVO , CMG (born March 11, 1938 ) is a retired British diplomat .

Life

Alan Everard Montgomery joined the foreign service in 1972 and was employed as embassy secretary in Dacca in 1974 , in Ottawa in 1977, and in the FCO in 1980. In 1983 he was counselor at the GATT negotiations and UNCTAD in Geneva .

From 1992 to 1995 he was ambassador to Manila . From July 1995 to 2002 he was High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Dar es Salaam , Tanzania .
