Alarm in the puppet theater

Alarm im Puppet Theater is a picture book by the German author Nils Werner with illustrations by Heinz Behling from 1958.

action

While preparing for grandma's birthday party, the puppet is supposed to buy fresh pancakes . But the little devil steals the pancakes from him. Together with the herb witch Adelheid, the policeman Schill, the king, the robber Fridolin and the crocodile, the puppet wants to get the pancakes back. But the devil ate all the pancakes alone. Therefore, he is now plagued by severe stomach pains , which means he cannot enjoy the celebration that is still taking place.

Cartoon

In 1960, DEFA commissioned a 16-minute cartoon version of the story. The animation film director Lothar Barke directed it . In addition to Barke, speakers were Peter Voigt , Christel Schlobach and Werner Baensch. Conny Odd produced the music .

The film premiered on December 23, 1960. At the New Delhi International Film Festival in 1962, the film received the Silver Lotus . Often repeated on GDR television, the film became an East German cartoon classic.
