Alastair Forsyth (born February 5, 1976 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish professional golfer on the European Tour .

Career

As an amateur, he won the Scottish Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 1996 and became a professional golfer in 1998 .

Forsyth started at the third level and won the MasterCard Tour Order of Merit and the regional money list in Scotland in 1999 . In the autumn of the same year he finished first in the Tour School in San Roque and qualified for the 2000 season on the European Tour . At the end of the season he found himself in a remarkable 46th place in the annual ranking and narrowly missed the "Rookie of the Year" award against Ian Poulter . After an average year 2001, Forsyth won his first tour win, the Malaysian Open , in 2002 after a play-off with Australian Stephen Leaney . The 2003 season was without a win, but thanks to good placements he was able to fix his best ranking in the European Tour Order of Merit with a 19th place. With a consistently good game, he has since held on to the major European tournament series without problems.

Forsyth played for Scotland several times in the World Cup .

He is an avid supporter of the Glasgow Rangers .
