Alban Förster
Alban Förster (born October 23, 1849 in Reichenbach im Vogtland , † January 18, 1916 in Neustrelitz ) was a German composer .
Life
Förster was a student at the Dresden Conservatory and from 1882 to 1908 court conductor in Neustrelitz, succeeding August Klughardt . He composed operas, symphonic music, chamber music, many piano pieces and songs. Until his retirement in 1908 he was director of the Singakademie.
