Albawings is an Albanian low-cost airline based in Tirana and based at Tirana Airport .

history

Albawings was founded in 2015 by two Albanian business people. In June 2016 the company received its license from the Albanian authorities. Flight operations began in September 2016. At that point there was no longer an active Albanian airline.

After Albawings only flew with one machine at first, a second aircraft was taken over in December 2016. It was brought to Tirana by Bruce Dickinson , lead singer of Iron Maiden , and named after the British comedian Norman Wisdom, who was popular in Albania .

Destinations

Albawings serves various Italian cities from Tirana Airport and, from summer 2019, Düsseldorf , Basel-Mulhouse , Hamburg and London-Stansted .

Albawings also works with Blue Panorama Airlines and operates codeshare flights with them.
