Alberni Valley is located on Vancouver Island . In the valley of Alberni Valley are Port Alberni , Sproat Lake and other surrounding areas. The term is mostly used as a synonym for the greater Port Alberni area and neighboring communities, but is sometimes used in a larger regional sense. Various local organizations and companies have the term "Alberni Valley" in their names, e.
