Alberni Valley is located on Vancouver Island . In the valley of Alberni Valley are Port Alberni , Sproat Lake and other surrounding areas. The term is mostly used as a synonym for the greater Port Alberni area and neighboring communities, but is sometimes used in a larger regional sense. Various local organizations and companies have the term "Alberni Valley" in their names, e. For example, the Alberni Valley Times and Alberni Valley News newspapers, the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Alberni Valley Bulldogs junior ice hockey team.
