Hubert Spiess

Hubert Spiess (born June 29, 1964 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) is an Austrian actor , director and theater producer .

Career

Hubert Spiess completed his training in Innsbruck and Vienna. This was followed by engagements at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck and the Volkstheater Vienna . An engagement at the Winterthur Summer Theater took him to Switzerland in 1993. Then he was an ensemble member at the Städtebundtheater Biel-Solothurn for two years   .

Since 1995 he has headed the Zürcher Märchenbühne together with Erich Vock . There he works both as an actor and as a director. Hubert Spiess has also been a producer of comedies and musicals for 20 years.

In 2007 he founded Spock Productions GmbH together with Erich Vock. (Little Niederorf Opera, La cage aux folles , Stägeli uf - Stägeli off, Kille Kille, Out of Control ...) In addition, the Tyrolean was on stage in various dialect variations, such as a psychiatrist in "Rente gut - alles gut", as an Austrian pastor in " Kille Kille "or as a Chinese waiter in" Zwei für Eis ".

He staged "Marie the Alpine Rose Queen" and "Kaspar and the Poachers" at the Geierwally open-air plays. In 2010 he directed the comedy "Huusfründe". Since 2011 he has been part of the "Friends" ensemble in "Benissimo", the SRF's Saturday evening show .

Hubert Spiess is openly gay . He campaigned for the Zurich Partnership Act by showing himself on posters with his partner. He lives in a registered partnership with the Swiss actor Erich Vock.
