Albert Bohlen

Albert Bohlen (* late 16th century; † June 9, 1665 in Aurich ) was mayor of Aurich from 1632 to 1638 . His father was Bole Heyen from Felde, who was mayor from 1608 to 1620.

Life

Albert Bohlen was born in Aurich and studied law at the University of Helmstedt . There he was awarded the academic degree Doctor Juris . Bohlen initially worked for Count Ulrich II. Assessor at the court court and was responsible for family matters. During the Thirty Years War he became mayor of Aurich in 1632 through the mediation of Chancellor Dothias Wiarda . In 1637 he fled with many residents from the Hessian troops to the better fortified city of Emden and became a lawyer there. In 1639 he was appointed to the Count's Council. In 1653 he became councilor and bailiff of Aurich and the following year court and court assessor .

Albert Bohlen was probably interested in history, as he wrote a chronicle of the events between 1370 and 1651, which he bequeathed to the historian Enno Tjaden .

family

Bohlen was married. His son Christian († 1690) studied law in Leipzig and became bailiff of Stickhausen in 1661 and councilor in 1678. His sister Anna († 1642) was the mother of Johann Hülsemann .
