Albert Friedrich Born (born February 1, 1829 in Herzogenbuchsee ; † October 20, 1910 there ) was a Swiss politician (FDP ) and entrepreneur .

Life

Albert Friedrich Born was born on February 1, 1829 as the son of Johannes Born and Annabarbara (née Gygax) in Herzogenbuchsee. He attended the canton school in Aarau . After extensive trips abroad, he returned to Switzerland in the early 1850s and entered the textile business as a manufacturer and textile merchant. He became a co-founder of the silk ribbon weaving mill Born, Moser & Cie , which was dissolved due to business difficulties in 1884 and taken over by the stock company Seidenbandweberei Herzogenbuchsee , in which Born was still employed. In addition, Born was a board member of the Trade and Industry Association of the Canton of Bern from 1866 to 1872 . He was also a member of the Swiss Trade and Industry Association from 1870 to 1872 .

Albert Friedrich Born, who married Rosalie (nee Flückiger) in 1854, died on October 20, 1910 at the age of 81 in Herzogenbuchsee.

Political functions

Born initially sat as a free-spirited politician in the council of Herzogenbuchsee and was also represented in the Bern Grand Council as a member of the radical parliamentary group from 1865 to 1885 . He was also a member of the National Council from 1871 to 1879.
