Albert Geng

Albert Geng (born March 30, 1938 in Ickelheim ) is an author , local researcher and holder of the citizen medal of the city of Hersbruck .

Life

Geng attended elementary school in Hersbruck and completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter at the regional newspaper publisher Pfeiffer after finishing school. In addition, he worked his way into journalism, kept appointments for the local editorial team of the Hersbrucker Zeitung and wrote various articles.

As a passionate hiker, he soon wrote the first hiking books from the region. Books with regional short stories and local tips followed. In addition, Geng looked after the Hersbruck City Archives for 25 years. With the dissemination of his regional lexicon Hersbruck 1000 terms , the term “geln” instead of “googling” has been consolidated in Hersbruck and the surrounding area. Among other things, 49 publications since 1976 are listed in the OPAC of the Bavarian Bibliography .
