Albert Gorter

Albert Gorter (born July 12, 1887 in Nuremberg , † September 5, 1981 in Landshut ) was a German administrative lawyer and ministerial official in Bavaria.

Life

Gorter studied law from 1906 at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen . In 1906 he became active in the Onoldia Corps . After the two state exams (1909, 1912) he became an accessist in the government of Upper Bavaria in July 1913 . He was a finance assessor at the Chamber of Finance (1914) and the State Ministry of Finance (1918). Since 1919 government assessor , from 1920 he was a clerk for civil service issues for over 15 years. He was promoted to senior government councilor in 1923 and to ministerial councilor in 1929. In the era of National Socialism , he was 1935 from April 1, state commissioner at the Bavarian State Bank . The Reich Economics Minister Walther Funk appointed him President of the bank in 1942. The US military government released him on June 5, 1945. On March 9, 1948, he was reinstated as Vice President of the Bayerische Staatsbank and retired. From 1949 to 1951 he was President of the Bavarian State Debt Administration. He retired on July 31, 1952.
