Albert Koch (politician)

Albert Koch (born July 10, 1921 in Neustadt bei Coburg , † July 20, 1995 Coburg) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Koch graduated from the Ernestinum in Coburg in 1940 and did his compulsory labor service. He had to break off his studies in modern philology and history at the University of Würzburg because he was drafted into the Wehrmacht. After more than four years of military service and a short stay in American captivity, he trained as a primary school teacher at what was then the Coburg Teacher Training Institute and was then a teacher in Neustadt bei Coburg.

In 1945 Koch became a member of the SPD. He sat on the city council of Neustadt bei Coburg and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He was also chairman of the Neustadt bei Coburg local association and chairman of the Coburg sub-district of the SPD and a member of the Coburg district council . From 1970 to 1986 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
