Georg Albert Lücke (born June 4, 1829 in Magdeburg , † February 20, 1894 in Strasbourg ) was a German surgeon and university professor.

Life

Lücke was the son of Johann Georg Karl Lücke and Caroline Sophie Lücke nee. Coqui. Georg Albert Lücke married Johanna Henriette Fanny Methfessel, daughter of the music teacher and music dealer Georg Adolf Friedrich Methfessel. He studied medicine at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Friedrichs-Universität Halle . From 1850 he was a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . In 1854 he was at the Frederick University to Dr. med. PhD. He then worked there as an assistant doctor before he switched to Bernhard von Langenbeck in Berlin as a private lecturer . From 1865 to 1872 he was full professor of surgery at the University of Bern and from 1872 at the Kaiser Wilhelm University of Strasbourg . Among other things, he worked on thyroid diseases and war surgery. From 1872 he was co-editor of the German journal for surgery and from 1879 of the German surgery .
