Albert Leifert

Albert Leifert (born September 16, 1936 in Schwelm ; † February 24, 2016 in Münster ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and from 1985 to 2000 a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

After graduating from high school , he studied chemistry and economics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. There he became a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Sauerlandia Münster in 1958 . From 1965 he was employed as a farmer in his parents' business, and in 1967 he went into business for himself. In 1961 he became a member of the CDU and was active in numerous party bodies during his membership.

From May 30, 1985 to June 1, 2000 Leifert was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in constituency 100 ( Warendorf I ).

He had been a member of the city ​​council of Drensteinfurt since 1975 and served there from 1976 to 1979 as chairman of the CDU council group and from 1979 to 1999 as honorary mayor of the Münsterland city.
