From the 1930s until his death, he lived in the Salbke district of Magdeburg in what was then the rear building of the Alt Salbke 88 property . His widow passed away in the 1980s. Until her death, she lived in the rear building at Alt Salbke 88 . This plot of land, the front and rear buildings, as well as the adjoining garden were owned by Rusch.
