Albert Räber

Albert Räber (born August 23, 1901 in Merenschwand ; † January 30, 1990 in Baden , Catholic , legal resident in Benzenschwil , since 1971 in Baden ) was a Swiss politician (SP) .

biography

Räber was born on August 23, 1901 as the son of the farmer Alfred Räber and Anna Maria née Leuthard in Merenschwand. From 1919 to 1923 Räber attended the teachers' college in Wettingen . After completing his training, he taught in Boswil , Buchs and Baden until 1964 . In 1975 Räber was made an honorary citizen of Baden. Albert Räber, who remained unmarried, died on January 30, 1990 at the age of 89 in Baden.

Political activity

Räber decided in 1933 to join the SP after an event by the frontists in Baden. From 1936 to 1972 Räber was a member of the Baden Budget and Accounts Commission, which he chaired from 1948. From 1945 to 1981 he was a member of the Aargau Grand Council , which he chaired from 1962 to 1963. From 1972 to 1979 he was represented at the municipal level in the Baden residents' council.

Räber campaigned for the disadvantaged of all social classes, but especially for young people.
