Albert Rigaux

Albert Rigaux (* 1897 in Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek near Brussels , † 1981 in Brussels) was a Belgian impressionist painter .

Life

Albert Rigaux (real name Henri Concierce ) came from a wealthy industrial family. Since his childhood, Rigaux spent every summer by the sea, often in Ostend , where he met James Ensor at an early age . He studied at the Brussels Academy until 1919 . A study trip to Spain followed in 1914 . From 1919 he exhibited at the Libre Estéthique in Brussels. From 1918 to 1933 he created his main works with the coveted beach scenes of Cannes and Ostend. In 1928 Rigaux showed his complete oeuvre in the Georges Giroux gallery in Brussels.
