Albert Schlagbauer (* 1913 ; † October 8, 2001 ) was a German educator .

Life

Albert Schlagbauer was for many years the government school director and the technical director of the state education office in the Donau-Ries district . Due to his great knowledge and his pedagogical skills, he was also in demand nationwide as a speaker for teacher training and as a member of the curriculum committee. From the 1950s to the late 1980s he was involved in numerous publications of school books, particularly in the field of mathematics. He was also particularly committed to the early support of mentally handicapped children and the establishment of special schools for the mentally handicapped. The fact that the culture of his homeland, the Nördlinger Ries, was a particular concern for him can be seen in the many books and small writings about the same, on which he worked as an author or co-editor. He was also active as a councilor for the city of Nördlingen for a long time.

Awards

In 1993 Albert Schlagbauer was awarded the Rieser Culture Prize. He was an honorary member of the Rieser Kulturtage e. V.
