Albert Schultz (politician)

Albert Schultz (born April 30, 1940 , † November 25, 1993 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and typesetter. Schultz was from 1973 to 1981 a member of the state parliament and member of the Vienna City Council and from 1981 to 1993 district chairman of the 22nd Viennese district Donaustadt .

Schultz learned the profession of typesetter and in 1956 became a member of the Socialist Youth in Vienna's Donaustadt district. In 1973 he took over the function of district secretary of the SPÖ Donaustadt and was sworn in on November 23, 1973 as a member of the municipal council and member of the Vienna state parliament. Schultz resigned from the state parliament and local council on April 2, 1981 and took over the office of district chairman of the Danube city on the same day. In addition, from 1989 Schultz was also district party chairman of the SPÖ-Donaustadt.

After his untimely death, Schultz was buried on December 3, 1993 in the Süßenbrunn cemetery . The ice rink built in 1996 for the ice hockey world championship in Albert Schultz ice rink was named in his honor. In addition, the urban residential complex at Erzherzog-Karl-Strasse 65–79 was named Albert-Schultz-Hof .
