Albert Stankowski

Albert Stankowski (born October 22, 1971 in Stettin ) is a Polish historian , member of the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw and head of the intangible collection of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews .

Life

Albert Stankowski was born in Stettin as the son of Dariusz Stankowski and Krystyna (née Kot). His father was a prisoner in Stalinist prisons from 1941 to 1956. Albert Stankowski closed the Liceum Ogólnokształcące im in 1989 . Mikołaja Kopernika w Kołobrzegu (Mikołaj Kopernik Lyceum in Kołobrzeg). From 1990–1995 he studied at the Institute for History at the University of Szczecin , and from 1995–1998 at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Szczecin. 1997–2001 he completed his doctorate at the Institute for History of the University of Warsaw , 2006–2007 postgraduate management studies at the Szkoła Główna Handlowa in Warsaw ( Warsaw School of Economics ). He also completed a one-year postgraduate museum studies course at the Institute for Art History at the University of Warsaw in 2012. From 2000–2001, Albert Stankowski was a lecturer on contemporary history and Polish-Jewish relations at the University of Warsaw. In 2000 he was the coordinator and member of the committee for setting up lapidaries in Kołobrzeg under the mayor's office within the framework of the international program "Dni Tolerancji - Kołobrzeg 2000" ( Days of Tolerance - Kolberg 2000 ). In 2003-2007 he coordinated the "Program Pamięci" ( Commemorative program ) organized by Fundacja Ochrony Dziedzictwa Żydowskiego ( Foundation for the Protection of the Jewish Heritage ) in Warsaw. From 2007-2011 he was the coordinator and founder of the international multimedia project Virtual Shtetl in the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. He has been a member of the Jewish Historical Institute Association since 2011. Since 2012 he has been the head of the intangible collection of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
