Albert Stegemann (born March 9, 1976 in Nordhorn ) is a German farmer and politician ( CDU ) and a member of the German Bundestag . Since January 2018 he has been chairman of the working group on food and agriculture of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . In addition, Stegemann is one of the two chairmen of the Federal Committee on Environment and Agriculture of the CDU in Germany.

After attending secondary school, Stegemann did his military service in Lingen (Ems) and began training in agriculture in 1992. In 2001, he took over his parents' family farm in rings and attended the agricultural economics college, which he graduated as a state-certified agricultural master in 2002.

In 1994 Stegemann became a member of the Junge Union , of which he was chairman of the Osnabrück-Emsland district association from 2003 to 2009. He joined the CDU in 2002 . Since 2010 he has been on the board of the CDU Osnabrück-Emsland and since February 2012 CDU chairman of the Emlichheim community .

Stegemann is a member of the Evangelical Old Reformed Church .

In the 2013 federal election , Stegemann won the direct mandate in the Mittelems constituency with 59.0 percent of the first votes . As part of his secondary employment, he earns more than 250,000 euros a year in addition to his parliamentary diet at level 10. According to calculations by Abestagswatch , Stegemann earned at least 878,500 euros in addition to his income from his parliamentary activities up to July 2015 in the 18th legislative period of the German Bundestag . After Philipp Graf Lerchenfeld he is the MP with the most additional income. This is mainly due to his farm, which is continued by his employees.

In the 2017 federal election , Stegemann won the direct mandate in the Mittelems constituency with 53.6 percent of the first votes.

He is a full member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture and a deputy member of the Committees for Labor and Social Affairs as well as Economic Cooperation and Development. Stegemann is committed to a sustainable social and pension system and was one of the critics of the discount-free pension at 63.
