Albertina Eunju Song

Albertina Eunju Song (* 1984 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a South Korean pianist and recipient of the 2014 International German Pianist Award.

Life

Albertina Eunju Song was born into a family of musicians and began playing the piano at the age of five. From 2003 to 2007 she studied with a scholarship from Yonsei University in the class of Young-Lan Han , where she passed the bachelor's examination with distinction in 2007 . At the invitation of the Cho-Sun newspaper , she gave her debut concert in the Sejong Hall in Seoul. From 2008 to 2012 the pianist studied with Andrzej Ratusiński at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, initially in the master’s program and from 2010 in the soloist class (final solo recital in 2012 “with distinction”). At the same time, Albertina Eunju Song received artistic impulses through master classes and additional lessons with Bernd Goetzke , Pavel Gililov , Kirill Gerstein , Karl-Heinz Kämmerling , Solomon Mikowsky and Bruno Rigutto . She had solo appearances a. a. with musicians from the Staatskapelle Dresden , the Leipzig String Quartet, with the Bulgarian State Radio Symphony Orchestra, in concerts at the Rotary Club Piano Festival in Rome, in the Liederhalle Stuttgart and in broadcasts on South Korean television.

  • 2010: 1st prize at the international piano competition Lia Tortora in Italy
  • 2010: 1st prize at the international piano competition Citta di Macagno in Italy
  • 2010: 1st prize at the Pedara international piano competition in Italy
  • 2011: 1st prize at the music prize of the Lions Club Stuttgart-Schlossgarten
  • 2012: 3rd prize, audience prize and special prize for the best interpretation of a work by C. Debussy at the Mayenne international piano competition in France
  • 2014: Winning the audience award at the International German Pianist Award 2014 in the Alte Oper Frankfurt
