International German Pianist Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International German Pianist Prize is an international music competition for piano and has been awarded annually since 2011.

Endowed with 20,000 euros, it serves to discover and promote outstanding pianists. An international jury of experts selects the nominees. A second jury, which is independent of the first, then selects the winner. The aim and purpose of the “International German Pianist Award” is to present the audience with artists who have outstanding artistic expression. The subsequent accompaniment of the nominees within the scope of the IPF Masters ensures performances in concert halls in Germany and abroad and establishes contacts with conductors and orchestras. Finally, the International Piano Forum supports the production of sound carriers, the creation of a website and the creation of an artist portfolio. Since 2016, the “International German Pianist Prize” has had the addition “powered by C. Bechstein ”. The grand finale of the “International German Pianist Award” is traditionally the official opening concert of the Frankfurt Music Fair and has taken place in the Alte Oper in Frankfurt am Main in recent years .

In 2008 the prize was founded by friends and patrons of classical piano music. The International Piano Forum has set itself the goal of promoting excellent exceptional talents. The initiator and president is Maryam Maleki, Nader Maleki's wife .
