Nareh Arghamanyan ( Armenian Նարե Արղամանյան ; born January 21, 1989 in Vanadzor , Armenian SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Armenian pianist .

Life

Arghamanyan started playing the piano at the age of five. Three years later she was accepted at the State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Yerevan . In 2004, at the age of 15, she was admitted to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna as the youngest student, and from autumn 2010 she will study with Arie Vardi at the Hanover University of Music .

In 2008 the pianist won the "Montreal International Music Competition". At the age of only 19, she was the youngest participant with Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto against 22 other competitors. In the same year she won the “Josef Dichler Piano Competition” and the 2nd prize in the “Gina Bachauer Competition”. In the 2009 season she made her New York debut in the Frick Collection and then various recitals in the USA . In October 2010 she won 2nd place at the Kissinger Piano Olympics .

In 2011 she performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra .
