Dudana Mazmanishvili

Dudana Mazmanishvili (* 1980 in Tbilisi , Georgia ) is a Georgian pianist .

Career

At the age of three she received her first piano lessons from her mother, the pianist Tamar Apakidze. She made her debut with the Georgian State Orchestra at the age of eight. In 1998 Elisso Virsaladze brought Dudana Mazmanishvili to Munich. From 2005 she perfected herself in New York with Jerome Rose.

Mazmanishvili has won prizes at international piano competitions: the Busoni Competition in Bozen (2007), the Washington International Piano Competition (2005), the Nicolai Rubinstein Competition Paris, the Nadia Reisenberg Award NY (2006) and the August Everding Competition in Munich . She made her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2006, and Harris Goldsmith described her as the discovery of the year in his concert review. In 2007 she was voted “Rising Star of the Year” in “Musical America”. The highlights of her career include appearances at the Phillips Collection in Washington , the Munich Residenz, the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Konzerthaus Berlin. In 2015 she made her debut at the Ruhr Piano Festival . In 2017 Dudana Mazmanishvili performed, among other things, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in the Berlin Philharmonic . 

From 2013 to 2018 she worked as a cultural attaché at the Georgian embassy in Berlin and is thus in the tradition of Jan Paderewski and Pablo Neruda as an artist in the diplomatic service.

  • 2006 Debut CD with works by Bach, Busoni, Liszt and Rachmaninow on Oehms Classics, which was voted CD of the month by Radio Bayern 4.
  • 2017 album with works by Robert Schumann and Revaz Lagidze on CUGATE Classics.
