Alberto Pedrazzini

Alberto Pedrazzini (born April 20, 1852 in Locarno ; † May 27, 1930 ibid) was a Swiss politician and writer.

Life

Alberto Pedrazzini was the son of the lawyer Gugliemo Pedrazzini and his wife Rosa, b. Franzoni. His brother was the politician and university professor Martino Pedrazzini (1843-1922) and he was a nephew of Alberto Franzoni (1816-1886), who was a politician and botanist.

He attended the school run by the Barnabites in Monza and worked intensively on music and theater. In 1874 he moved to Milan and attended the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi until 1879 , from which he graduated with a piano diploma, and then worked as an art and music critic for La Gazzetta Musicale by Giovanni Ricordi , for Il Credente and Lo Spettatore, and for some Catholic newspapers such as La Lega Lombarda , L'Osservatore Cattolico and Leonardo Da Vinci .

After he returned to Ticino, he sat from 1882 to 1893 and from 1913 to 1929 for the Conservative Party in the Grand Council ; During this time he was represented in the Constitutional Council in 1891, 1892 and 1921.

He opened the Alberto Pedrazzini printing house around 1890 .

Alberto Pedrazzini was married to Beatrice Pellegrini.

Writing

He was editor of the conservative newspaper La Libertà until 1899 and owner and editor of the newspaper Cronaca ticineseII from 1901 to 1926 ; in addition, he published the first Christian-social publications and thus gained local fame. He wrote popular scientific articles in the historical field and created plays with historical references to the canton of Ticino , for example I novatori locarnesi in 1921 or Simone da Locarno in 1924 .
