Albin Lermusiaux ( April 9, 1874 , † 1940 ) was a French athlete and marksman .

Athletic career

Lermusiaux started at the Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 in three athletics disciplines and a shooting competition . Over 800 meters he reached a time of 2: 16.6 minutes in advance. During this time he qualified for the final, but did not take part.

In the final (the only run) of the 1500-meter run , Lermusiaux led for a long time, but was third behind the Australian Edwin Flack and the American Arthur Blake .

His exact placement in the military rifle shooting over 200 meters is not known, only that he achieved a place in the top thirteen out of 42 participants.

In the marathon , Lermusiaux led the field as the favorite for 32 kilometers, but gave up at this mileage.
