Albrecht Georg Walch

Albrecht Georg Walch (born June 2, 1736 in Schleusingen ; † January 5, 1822 there ) was a German educator .

Life

Albrecht Georg Walch was the son of Georg Ernst Walch (1696–1769), rector at the grammar school (today: Hennebergisches grammar school "Georg Ernst" ) in Schleusingen.

He attended high school in Schleusingen and then studied at the University of Jena .

In 1761 he received his master's degree and in the same year was hired as the third teacher at the Schleusingen grammar school. In 1764 he was promoted to vice rector and in 1769 to rector and professor of philosophy and mathematics.

He introduced science and modern languages ​​to grammar school and bequeathed almost 2,000 volumes to the school library.

Albrecht Georg Walch was married to Marianna Augusta, daughter of Government Councilor Dr. jur. Johann Friedrich Hauswaldt (1710–1761).

He had no offspring.

Act as a writer

He published educational writings and described in detail the history of the Schleusinger Gymnasium and the responsible supervisory office. He also published various articles in 1802 and 1804 in the Herzoglich-Sachsen-Coburg-Meiningischen non-profit paperback.
