Albrecht Huxer

Albrecht Huxer († 1456 ) was a German long-distance merchant , shipowner and mayor of the legal city of Danzig from 1431 to 1456.

Life

Albrecht was a son of Tideman Huxer , who later was also mayor of Danzig. In 1404 he was registered as a citizen in Danzig, as a merchant and shipowner. In 1413 his dismissal as lay judge was mentioned, in 1418 he was reappointed as lay judge. Albrecht Huxer was councilor from 1422 and one of the four mayors of the right city of Danzig from 1431 . During his tenure he was rarely mentioned, in 1453 he represented the interests of the city of Danzig and the Prussian Federation before the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order .

Albrecht Huxer founded a charterhouse in the Marienparadies monastery near Danzig.
