Lehôtka pod Brehmi (until 1973 Slovak "Lehôtka pod Brehy", older "Lehotka pod Brehy" and "Lehôtka Podbrehy"; Hungarian Apáthegyalja - until 1892 Podbrehilehota , older Podbrechlehota and the like) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 410 inhabitants (As of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Žiar nad Hronom , part of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located in the central part of the Žiarska kotlina basin on the right bank of the Teplá brook in the Hron catchment area . Part of the municipality is located in the Schemnitz Mountains . Above the map, the up to a height of rising 343 m nm superior rhyolite -Felsformation Szabóová scale , at the same time a nature reserve. The town center is located at an altitude of 239 m nm and is nine kilometers from Žiar nad Hronom .
Neighboring communities are Lovča in the north, Žiar nad Hronom ( Horné Opatovce district ) in the northeast, Sklené Teplice in the east, Repište in the southeast and Hliník nad Hronom in the south and west.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1391 as Lehotha and belonged to the dominion of the Revište castle and a quarter of the estate of the abbey in Hronský Beňadik . After the abbey fell, the village was owned by the Gran Chapter from 1536 and by the Bergkammer in the 17th century. In 1828 there were 39 houses and 236 inhabitants.
Until 1918, the place in Bars County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Lehôtka pod Brehmi had 403 residents, 337 of whom were Slovaks , 13 Roma and one each Magyar , Russian and Czech . 50 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
260 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 22 residents to the Greek Catholic Church, four residents each to the Brethren and Evangelical Church AB, and one resident each to the Bahaitum, the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Orthodox Church; two residents professed a different denomination. 42 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 66 inhabitants was not determined.

At Lehôtka pod Brehmi, 1st order road 65 runs on the section between Žarnovica and Žiar nad Hronom. There is a connection to the R1 expressway via the Lehôtka pod Brehmi junction. The Nové Zámky – Zvolen railway runs through the municipality with the nearest train station in Hliník nad Hronom.
