Lutila (until 1927 Slovak also "Lutilá"; German Windischlitta , Hungarian Lutilla ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 1421 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Žiar nad Hronom , part of the Banskobystrický kraj .

The community is located in the middle of the Grant valley , more precisely in the Žiarská kotlina basin . A considerable part of the almost 26 km² large municipal area lies in the Kremnitzer Mountains . Due to the location of the stream flows Lutilský Potok , of the streams here Slaský Potok and Kopernický Potok receives. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 294  m nm and is four kilometers from Žiar nad Hronom .

history

According to the community chronicle , there was a place called Lutina around 1300 , which belonged to the territory of the then Heiligenkreuz. According to other sources, the place was first mentioned in writing as Lutilla in 1487 . A wooden church was consecrated in 1491, and in 1558 a school, a parish, two chapels, a malt house and a mill are mentioned. In 1682 the village was devastated by the Ottomans, but was quickly rebuilt afterwards. In 1828 there are 109 houses and 744 inhabitants.

Until 1918, the place in Persch County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

From 1980 to 1991 Lutila was part of the town of Žiar nad Hronom.
