Slaská (until 1927 Slovak also "Slazka"; German Leskowitz , Hungarian Mogyorómál - until 1892 Szlaszka ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 464 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Žiar nad Hronom , part of the Banskobystrický kraj , heard.
geography
The village is located in the north-eastern foothills of the Žiarska kotlina basin in the Slaský potok valley , below the Kremnica Mountains . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 426 m nm and is nine kilometers from Žiar nad Hronom .
Neighboring municipalities are Handlová and Kunešov in the north, Kopernica the east, Lutila the south and Kosorín in the West.
history
Slaská was first mentioned in writing in 1454 as Szilezka and was then owned by the Archdiocese of Gran . In 1685 ownership changed to the archbishop's estate with its seat in nearby Heiligenkreuz and finally in 1776 to the newly founded Diocese of Neusohl . From 1571–73 there were three portals , in 1601 there were 52 houses and a malt house, in 1715 the village had a restaurant and a mill and 38 taxpayers, including three craftsmen. In 1828 there were 69 houses and 475 inhabitants.
Until 1918, the place in Bars County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Slaská had 466 inhabitants, 403 of whom were Slovaks , 19 Roma and one Czech . 43 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
344 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and two residents supported the Evangelical Church AB. 59 residents were non-denominational and 61 residents had no denomination.
