The route book route 150 Nové Zámky – Zvolen is a main line in Slovakia . It leads from the south of the country first through the Danube lowlands and then along the river Hron to the central Slovak town of Zvolen .
history
Today's course book route was put into operation in sections:
- 1900 Nové Zámky - Šurany ,
- 1894 Šurany– Úľany nad Žitavou ,
- 1914 Úľany nad Žitavou– Levice ,
- 1896 Levice– Hronská Dúbrava ,
- 1872 Hronská Dúbrava – Zvolen.
The initially single-track line was expanded to double-track in individual sections (1937 Zvolen– Hronská Dúbrava , 1989 Žarnovica - Žiar nad Hronom ).
In the 1980s and 1990s, the railway line was gradually electrified (1986 Nové Zámky – Šurany, 1991 Šurany – Levice, 1993 Levice – Žiar nad Hronom, 1994 Žiar nad Hronom – Hronská Dúbrava, 1995 Hronská Dúbrava – Zvolen).
Current condition
Local trains run every two hours on average during the day, mostly in the Nové Zámky – Levice and Levice – Zvolen sections. In addition, there are a number of express trains that usually start in Bratislava, meet the route described here in Šurany and lead to Zvolen.
