Radava (until 1948 Slovak "Rendva"; Hungarian Rendve ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 748 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the Nové Zámky District , a circle of Nitriansky kraj heard.
geography
The village is located on the western edge of the Pohronská pahorkatina hills within the Slovak Danube lowlands , in the valley of the Radavka stream . The center of the village is at an altitude of 145 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Šurany , 23 kilometers from Nové Zámky and 34 kilometers from Levice .
Neighboring municipalities are Trávnica in the north, Podhájska in the east, Veľké Lovce in the southeast and Hul in the southwest and west.
history
Radava was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1237 as Renduuey and was owned by the local landed gentry and the rule of Levenz Castle , in the 17th century a part belonged to the Motešický family . In 1535 there were five portals , in 1601 there were 20 houses in the village. In 1663 Radava was destroyed by the Ottomans. In 1828 there were 73 houses and 490 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.
Until 1918/1919, the place in Persch County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia, or now Slovakia. Due to the First Vienna Arbitration Award , he was again in Hungary from 1938 to 1945.

According to the 2011 census, there were 798 residents in Radava, 785 of them Slovaks and one Czech . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and 11 residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
695 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Evangelical Methodist Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 42 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 25 inhabitants was not determined.

Radava has a stop on the Nové Zámky – Zvolen railway line and is located on the 2nd order road 580 between Šurany and Kalná nad Hronom .
