Podhájska is a municipality in Okres Nové Zámky within Nitriansky kraj in Slovakia .
It was created on July 1, 1960 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities Belek (Hungarian Kisbelleg ) and Svätuša (up to 1948 Slovenian Senča; Hungariancencsa ), the name means something like " near the alluvial forest". The place is in the Danube hill country (Podunajská pahorkatina) on the brook Liska and is on the national road 580 between Šurany , 15 km to the west and Kalná nad Hronom , 21 km to the northeast.
The two districts were first mentioned in writing in 1075 (Belek) and 1156 (Svätuša).
Today the community is best known for its thermal baths . In 1973 a thermal spring was discovered, the water of which has a temperature of around 80 ° C and its content is comparable to that of the Dead Sea. The bath is suitable for people with respiratory diseases, rheumatic diseases, and vascular and joint diseases.
