Lipová is a municipality in western Slovakia north of the city of Šurany .
It was created on July 1, 1960 through the merger of the places Mlynský Sek (Hungarian Nyitramalomseg ) and Ondrochov (German Onderhof , Hungarian Ondroho ).
Until 1918 the independent places belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia . They came back to Hungary for a short time from 1938 to 1945 through the First Vienna Arbitration .
