Railway line Nové Zámky – Prievidza
The Nové Zámky – Prievidza railway line is a single-track and mostly non-electrified railway line in Slovakia . It runs from Nové Zámky to Prievidza through the valley of the Nitra River .
history
The first line from Šurany to Nitra was opened in 1876. The section from Nitra to Topoľčany went into operation in 1881, from Topoľčany to Veľké Bielice (part of Partizánske ) in 1884 and from Veľké Bielice to Prievidza in 1896. The last line from Nové Zámky to Šurany was opened in 1900 and is the only electrified section today.
