The Komárom – Nové Zámky railway is a single-track main line in northern Hungary and southern Slovakia . It begins in the Hungarian Komárom on the southern bank of the Danube, runs over the Danube bridge to the Slovakian Komárno , before reaching the railway junction Nové Zámky through the flat Danube lowlands .
history
The whole railway line was opened on May 10, 1910. In Komárno, the station had to be relocated 150 meters to the east, as it was previously a terminus station .
The electrification work was completed on May 24, 1972.
There are several local trains between Komárno and Nové Zámky and an express train to Bratislava via Nové Zámky. There is only freight traffic on the border route.
