Krušovce (Hungarian Nyitrakoros - until 1907 Koros ; German Korosch ) is a municipality in western Slovakia northeast of the city of Topoľčany .

It is located in the central Nitratal near the tributary of the Bebrava and was first mentioned in 1235. It is one of the oldest settlements in the area and has been permanently inhabited at least since the time of the Great Moravian Empire .

Important personalities who were born or lived here were the painter Alexander Buzna (born January 14, 1868 Krušovce; † April 8, 1945 Nižná), who was involved in decorating the church, Anton Kelemen , (born January 15, 1708 Krušovce ; † September 14, 1760 Cluj , today Romania), the professor of philosophy (among others in later Trnava and Győr ) was the writer and philosopher Ján Rezik (* about 1650 Krušovce, † July 4, 1701 in Prešov ), the one made an important contribution to Slovak literature of the Baroque period and later taught in Košice and Prešov, as well as Alexander Rudnay (born October 4, 1760 in Pavažany, † September 13, 1831 in Esztergom ), who was pastor here and was finally appointed cardinal in 1828.

Dolné Chlebany (German Unterhelbing , Hungarian Alsóhelbény ) has belonged to the municipality since 1964 .

One of the places of interest is the Krušovce Castle, a classicist building from 1830, which is surrounded by a park.
