Solčany (1927 to 1948 Slovak "Selčany"; Hungarian Szolcsány ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .

It is located between the Nitra River in the west and the Tribetz Mountains in the east. The (former) district town Topoľčany is 3 km to the northwest.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1235 as Scelchan .
