Bošany (German Boschan , Hungarian Bossány ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .
geography
The village lies on the Danube hill country at the foot of the Tribeč on the banks of the Nitra . The closest towns are Topoľčany (7 km away) and Partizánske (12 km away).
In addition to today's main town, which is divided into Malé Bošany and Veľké Bošany, the municipality also includes Baštín , which was incorporated in 1960 and is located to the southwest .
history
The place was first mentioned as Bossan in 1183 . Today's municipality was created in 1924 through the merger of the places Malé Bošany and Veľké Bošany .
