Albrecht II (Hoya)

Albrecht II of Hoya (* 1526 - † March 18, 1563 ) was Count of Hoya from 1545 to 1563 .

Life

Albrecht was the son of Jobst II von Hoya and his wife Anna von Gleichen . First, he involved his brothers Erich and Otto in the government, who renounced in 1553 in his favor and Albrecht ruled alone from then on. In 1561 Albrecht married Katharina von Oldenburg . After he died childless, his brothers ruled one after the other until Otto died in 1582 as the last Count of Hoya and the dynasty thus died out. His wife Katharina († 1620) survived him for many years.
