Albrecht Kittler

Albrecht Kittler (* 1968 in Görlitz ) is a German non-fiction author (mountaineering / climbing) who has been active as a mountaineer ( Caucasus / Pamir / Alps ) and climber himself since the 1980s . After graduating from school in 1985 in Herrnhut and training as a typesetter 1985–1987 in Dresden , Kittler obtained his university entrance qualification on the second educational path in 1989. In 1989/90 he did his alternative military service.

From 1990 he studied printing technology at the Technical University of Leipzig , where he obtained the degree of graduate engineer in 1995. From 1995 to 2003 he was part of the management of Union Druckerei Dresden GmbH, most recently as managing director. In 2004 he switched to the online printing company SAXOPRINT GmbH in Dresden. Since the end of 2009, Kittler has been managing director of the textile printing company Abraham Dürninger & Co. GmbH in Herrnhut.

From the 1990s onwards, Kittler published articles on the subject of alpinism and the history of mountaineering in publications by various specialist publishers. Since 1997 he has published several non-fiction books in quick succession, in particular the multi-part climbing guide for Bohemian Switzerland and a biography about Rudolf Kauschka .

As a member of the Sächsischer Bergsteigerbund eV , section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) , he is involved on a voluntary basis in various committees (board 1999–2000 and 2005–2007 / archive management since 1997) and in the interest group Saxon mountaineering history. At the latter, he has been editorially responsible for the half-yearly publications since 1995. He is also a member of the Reichenberg section of the Austrian Alpine Club .

Kittler is married and has two grown children.
