Oliver Betteridge (born January 16, 1996 in Nottingham ) is a British ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League since 2011 .

Career

Oliver Betteridge began his career as a hockey player in his hometown of Nottingham, where he played for various junior teams and in 2007 was named a U11 All-Star by the English Ice Hockey Association . He was also on the ice with the Sheffield Rapiers from 2008 to 2010. In the 2011/12 season he made his debut with the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League . In the following season he played mostly for the Swindon Wildcats in the English Premier Ice Hockey League and the Nottingham Lions in the National Ice Hockey League , but was also used once in the EIHL with the Panthers. From 2013 to 2015 he played mainly for the Wildcats in the EPIHL and only came to a few games in the EIHL. Since 2015 he has played exclusively with the Panthers, with whom he won the Challenge Cup and the EIHL Playoffs in 2016 and the IIHF Continental Cup in 2017 .

International

In the junior division, Betteridge first played at the U18 World Championships in 2013 and 2014 in Division II. With the British U20 selection , he took part in the 2014 and 2016 world championships in Division I and 2015 in Division II.

For the British men's team , he played in Division I at the 2018 World Cup and made it to the top division, making the island team for the first time since relegation back to the top level of the World Cup in 1994.
